Writing to Express, Not to Impress

My favourite part about writing is not the final result. My writing is not the product of any self-driven desire to impress others. It is the product of my innate ability to be overly and dillgently descriptive - to express myself. To express myself through writing, the words and the lines that form with and between them must be like a natural landscape. I am not saying that I want my writing to be fancy and attractive. What I am saying is that expressing my writing in the most authetnic way possilbe is to squeeze out every detail from my vision and pour the rich organic source material from my psyche onto the paper. People often critizise my lack of skill and efficiency when it comes to writing essays and factual reports. This does not mean I lack any skill in thinking, planning, and writing. This means that I am not your common writer who creates and bridges ideas out of the blue and write in the same way like a utilitarian would. I don't look for cohesion or conciseness. I look for authenticity, and the way in which I express this authenticicty in writing is to include all the details, significant or insignificant. I may lack the ability to write excellent formal/research papers in academia, but I simply do not lack the ability to articulate myself. Though the majority of details I use are seemingly unncessary, every detail, in my opinion is relevant because I thought of it and these details come from me, the organic human material. To simply omit any detail is to omit any authenticity in presentng myself. This may seem idealistic, but everyone has their own ideals. I cannot be human if I am one and the same as another, so I must differentiate myself from others to shine and stop myself from being the "common writer" who meets "mainstream expectations." Above all else, where is the fun and creativity in writing when one subjects himself to the standard essay/report? Where is the authentic goal and purpose? What is the overall contribution to society if one does not learn to break the boundaries of what we have been taught to do? What I mean is that having lack of skill in any aspect wriitng does not make it a limitation. Instead, having limiatitons allows other facets and elements of writing to be empowered and it is the limitations that strengthen the other parts skills that we are at least proicient in showing in our writing. Imperfection is innately who we are, allowing us compensate our strengths for our weakneses. Being "perfect" and "fully capable" in all aspects is the true limitation because there lacks an innate desire to improve and strengthen any skill in the world of writing. If we do have limitations, on the other hand, which every individual does, our strengthened skills remain strong, and we develop our unyielding innate nature to streangthen what isn't. (Note that "strength" here does not atttriubte to physcial strength). In short, having limitations is key to becoming better in expressing yourself and being authentic; in turn, being authentic alllows us to be honest with ourselves and idnetify our starting points for improvement. Our limits exist and are turned into extensions and that is what makes our imperfections innately boundless and unlimited. Some say we sometimes are tempted to write to impress, but I would say that if we keep in mind what is truly at stake and stay true to ourselves, we write to express.
